Scourge (Russian: бич) is an in-production Slavic seinen manga series created by Yuri Sokolowsky, set in the Soviet Union. It pioneers a new genre by fusing Eastern European existential horror with the mature storytelling of Japanese seinen manga. It explores the impossibility of love in a world built on loss. A story that is equal parts psychologically devastating, viscerally poetic, and unflinchingly human.
In the frozen ruins of the Soviet Union, Mikhail, a broken soldier, becomes a hollow avenger armed with a cursed handgun as a memento of his rage. His war begins after a betrayal so profound it shatters his reality, leaving his mind as scarred as his body. With nothing else in his life, he turns to revenge against the cabal, Legion, led by their newest member, Mikhail's traitorous comrade, who with their heinous actions, try to convert Mikhail to their philosophy: Love is the ultimate deception, and suffering the only constant in this forsaken world.
